Working With Scraps

Working on Christmas projects with scraps!!!

A post shared by Lynda Birch Jeffs (@l.jeffs) on

When I work on a project, I save all the pieces I can!  Even the smallest of strip’s can be put on cards, tags, embellishments….as bases for smaller things – paper piecing’s – punches – stamp’s….anything to add color to your project, or dimension, or whatever!  Larger pieces can be used when paired together as a background for a layout or card, bases for bookmarks….  Put a few different 6 x 6 pieces together and make a framed page or layout!!!

As I start to work on a project – I select the papers I am going to be using on the project, and get to work!  If I am working on a mini album, I start to select the individual papers I want to use for the front and back cover – and how I want it to look.  From there – the rest of the inside pages come to life, and the embellishments I want to use start to come to life in my head!

I am doing this same thing with my Christmas cards and using the extra papers from the mini albums I am doing, for the embellishments!  It is so cost effective to grab some die cuts – stamps – things you have at home, and create your own embellishments that nobody else has!  Scraps save a lot of money on your crafting!!!
