Ways to Use Scraps With Cards

For my card making – I use 8. 5 x 11 sheets of cardstock for the most part, and then I purchase envelopes to put the finished cards in!  You can also purchase card packs (I do this when I can) but using card stock – for ME, makes financial sense!  I can use a full sheet of cardstock for 2 cards, add to it scraps of paper from other projects, and you have an inexpensive made, one of a kind card for your special people!

Directions:

Step one:  Taking a sheet of 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock, cut your cardstock either from the top at 4.25″ straight down, or on the side at 5.5″ straight across.

Step two:  Fold in half to create the card base.

You can make your own card bases in just about any color you want, and any style!  It’s all about the papers you then use for the creation you are making!  Look at some of the left overs you have from other projects – papers, die cuts – “bling” – what will look perfect for the project you are making?  What papers do you have – what stamp sayings do you have you can use?  If you start to get inspiration, have a notebook or something you can sketch out the card example…..or take a picture of the inspiration you get with your phone!

Keep your scraps, and make fun cards, bookmarks, tags, small embellishments, paper piecing patterns – out of SCRAPS from other projects!  Learn to look at color – not necessarily the “paper” manufacturer, and simply ENJOY!
